The hotel is right in the city centre, close to the pedestrian shopping area Kartnerstrasse, opposite the Opera House and only a tiny walk away from St. Sacher (junior Suite) in Vienna. Stephen's Cathedral, the Hofburg and the elegant Ringstrasse, a road which boasts Vienna's major sites, like the Burgtheater and the City Hall. Since 1934, the hotel is run by the Gurtler family, who is very keen on maintaining the hotel's old tradition. The traditional hotel boasts a total of 152 elegant rooms and suites and fantastic spa area. With the two new top floors (floors 6 and 7) the hotel offers 42 additional Sacher light rooms designed by interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon in cooperation with Dkfm. These rooms have a splendid view of the city. Special attention has been paid to providing maximum comfort and the latest in technical equipment: all rooms feature wireless LAN, a Dolby Surround system, roof terraces, marble bathrooms with separate shower and toilet (some also have a bidet) as well as two washbasins, under-floor heating, illuminated vanity mirrors and plasma TV. The 110 old rooms which are located on floors 1 to 4 are well equipped too - elegant furniture, choice antiques and fine fabrics create a warm and luxurious atmosphere. Moreover, beautiful paintings and other decorative pieces of art give each room its own unique character and style.
